Grief Support After the Death Of a Child The mission of The Compassionate Friends is to assist families in the positive resolution of grief following the death of a child and to provide information to help others be supportive. The Compassionate Friends-Honolulu Chapter is a part of a national nonprofit, self-help support organization which offers friendship and understanding to families who are grieving the death of a child of any age, from any cause. There is no religious affiliation. There are no membership fees or dues, and all bereaved family members are welcome. The secret of TCF's success is simple: As seasoned grievers reach out to the newly bereaved, energy that has been directed inward begins to flow outward and both are helped to heal. The vision of the Compassionate Friends is that everyone who needs us will find us and everyone who finds us will be helped. TCF Honolulu Monthly Meetings The 1st Saturday of every month. Time: 10:00 a.m-11:30 a.m. Place: Waikiki Yacht Club 1599 Ala Moana Blvd. Parking is available at Ala Moana Center You may come late, leave early. You are not required to talk. Just listening is OK. It takes courage to come to the first meeting-bring a friend or relative to lean on if you wish. You will find that it's all right to laugh or cry, to share exactly how you feel, or to say nothing at all. You are not alone. TCF Honolulu Chapter Newsletters The Compassionate Friends-Honolulu Chapter publishes a quarterly E-Newsletter in memory of our children. If you are interested in receiving a copy, either call the phone number above, email your request to Piilani.smith@tcfhonolulu.org or write to the TCF Honolulu Chapter at the address above. A hard copy is available to those who do not have access to email.
